My name is Sara Haupt, and I'm running as a Democrat for Cranston City Council in Ward 2.

My family chose Cranston because we love it. As a mom and a resident, I'm concerned for our city's future. Cranston's budget crisis threatens everything we love about our community: our low taxes, our great schools, the city services we rely on. If we don't act now, Mayor Hopkins could hollow out our city within two years.

As a civil engineer, I solve complex problems for a living, and I have real ideas to save Cranston money and do things smarter, not harder. When a good idea comes up, engineers rally around it based on its merit. I wish our government worked the same way and focused on common goals

and values.

I want my 3-year-old son to grow up here, attend our public schools, play in well-kept parks, and travel streets that are safe for people on foot, on bikes, and in cars alike. Too much of our city falls short of that. But we can and must do better. 
 

Let's bring common sense back to Cranston. I hope to earn your vote in the Democratic primary, on or before September 9th.
